Directing with [cues]: share what actually works

Opening a running thread for cue techniques. Ours to start: place the cue at the start of the sentence it modifies, not mid-phrase. One cue per beat reads better than three stacked. [pause] before a reveal does more than any adjective. Whisper cues drop perceived volume, so boost your gain after, not before. And read your script aloud yourself once; if you stumble, the engine will too. What have you found?
